Equality Outcomes 2021-2025

Closed 22 Dec 2020

Opened 3 Nov 2020

Overview

The Equality Act 2010 says that all public organisations, e.g. councils and the health service, must publish equality outcomes (targets) at least every four years.  The aim of Equality outcomes is to improve people’s life chances, stop discrimination and support good relations between people.

Edinburgh Council has worked with partner organisations (e.g. West Lothian and Midlothian Councils, NHS Lothian, Midlothian Health and Social Care Partnership) to write equality themes and outcomes.  We have used research and evidence from different sources.  We have talked with services and organisations that work to help and support people.

Each partner organisation will be responsible for their own outcomes and action plan.  However, we hope to find shared outcomes that we can work on together.

We want young people with a variety of life and personal experiences to tell us what they think about the draft themes and outcomes.  Your views will help us to decide on the final outcomes and agree actions that can make a difference to people's lives.
