Leith Chooses 2022-2023

Closed 29 Jan 2023

Opened 16 Jan 2023

Overview

£eith Chooses is a process of democratic deliberation and decision-making in which local people choose how to spend a public budget (participatory budgeting, or ‘PB’).

If you live, work, study or volunteer in Leith please take time to consider the projects, and be sure to vote. You can cast your votes online by clicking on the link in the purple box below. Postal voting papers are also available, but please don’t try to vote by post as well as online.

Grants of up to £5,000 will be awarded from a total of £54,102 (£46,102 from City of Edinburgh Council's Community Grants Fund, £3,000 from Port of Leith Housing Association, and £5,000 from Trams to Newhaven). These grants are for small, one-off projects that meet urgent needs and progress local priorities.

The projects address this year’s theme, Sustaining Leith: supporting and protecting the most vulnerable in our community.

Voting is open from 16 January until the end of 29 January 2023. You can review the projects here from 2nd January 2022.
