Meadowbank Sports Centre - Wall of Honour Nomination
Overview
A space within the atrium of the new Meadowbank Sports Centre is reserved for a Wall of Honour.
To nominate a person you believe deserves a place on the Wall of Honour, please use the form below. Please read the following selection criteria carefully before submitting your nomination.
There are 4 categories for the nominations:
1. Competitive Achievements – nominations will be considered for individuals who have medalled at a major senior championship within their sport. This should be at a Commonwealth, European, World or Olympic level event. Individuals must have a connection to Meadowbank. This would most likely be a member of a club based at the sport centre.
2. Community Service – nominations will be considered for individuals who have made significant contributions to sports, clubs and the Meadowbank community in a voluntary capacity. This could be through various positions and roles such as coach, official or volunteer and nominations should detail their achievements e.g. inspiring people to participate and perform, inspiring others through their own dedication to club and sport, positively impacting their communities health and wellbeing, encouraging individuals to participate in physical activity etc. Length of service should be in the region of 10+ years.
3. Professional Service – nominations will be considered for individuals who were employed to work at Meadowbank Sports Centre for a significant period and contributed to the operation and development of the venue as a major training, sports, events, health and wellbeing, physical activity and community destination. Length of service should be in the region of 10+ years.
4. Special Contribution – nominations will be considered for individuals who do not meet elements of the above criteria but you feel are an outstanding individual who should be recognised on the Wall of Honour.
In all cases the final decision rests with the selection panel. The selection panel reserves the right to remove any inductees from the Wall of Honour, if deemed necessary.
Initial nominations are welcome until midnight on Friday 26th November 2021.
Subsequent nominations will be welcomed after this time and reviewed once a year.
