Proposal to Relocate Newcraighall Primary School in the New Brunstane Housing Development
Overview
UPDATE March 2020
The 'Outcome of the Statutory Consultation Report' was reported to the City of Edinburgh Council at its meeting on 12 March 2020.
The Council's decision was to approve the proposal to relocate Newcraighall Primary School in the New Brunstane housing development.
The decision can be found in the minutes of the Council meeting and you can watch how the Council reached its decision from the web-cast library.
BACKGROUND
Significant new housing development is proposed within the Newcraighall area. As school roll projections show that pupils from the new housing will lead to school accommodation pressures by 2022, it is necessary to progress a statutory consultation in order that a new primary school in the area can be delivered. A site within the ‘New Brunstane’ housing development site to the north of the existing school on Newcraighall Road has been identified.
The full details of the proposal are available in the statutory consultation paper. A summary paper can also be accessed from the links to related documents at the bottom of this page.
