Overview

 

 

Last year our tenants said they want us to build more homes, make homes cheaper to manage and provide services that help them to reduce costs. We listened and now have a five year plan aims to reduce your living costs and to build 8,000 new homes over the next 10 years. We want to know what you think of this plan.

Why your views matter

Every year we ask Council tenants for their views on how their rent should be spent. We use the responses to inform the Council housing budget for the following year and a five year investment plan.

This year we want to build on last year's responses and ask if you would like us to speed up the improvements by increasing rent or slow them down. We also want to hear from you if there are other ways we can invest to keep living costs down.

What happens next

The outcome of the consultation will inform the 2017/18 Housing Service budget and rent levels. The Council's Finance and Resources Committee will discuss the draft budget at a special budget meeting in January 2017.
