City Plan 2030 - Proposed Plan's Period for Representation

Closed 21 Dec 2021

Opened 5 Nov 2021

Overview

We have prepared Edinburgh’s proposed new local development plan called City Plan 2030. In time, it will replace the existing Local Development Plan that came into force in November 2016.

City Plan sets out locations for new homes and businesses, where new infrastructure and facilities are required and how we will protect places of value. It provides policies which will be used to determine future planning applications.

Why your views matter

Making a representation

The proposed City Plan’s period for representations is your last chance to comment on the content of City Plan.

We are asking you to review the Proposed City Plan 2030 and make your representation to us with your support or objections and any changes you wish to see.

We have prepared a Quick Guide to City Plan 2030 This gives an overview of each section of the plan and what it contains plus more information on the plan and the process. We have also prepared a quick guide to assist you in submitting a representation on the consultation hub.

Representations will be analysed following close of the representations period. Any unresolved issues will be considered by an independent Reporter, appointed by Sottish Ministers, who will examine the Plan.

Please note that your representation is a legal response to the Proposed Plan. Petitions will NOT be accepted because each representation is a legal document and must be made by an individual who is putting forward their personal views on the Proposed Plan and have valid contact details, just the same as a response to a planning application must have.

What happens next

We will review all of your representations on the City Plan 2030- Proposed Plan document.

Any unresolved representations will be passed to the Scottish Government Reporter as part of the Examination of the Proposed Plan.  Once the Examiniation is complete, the Reporter may advise changes to the Proposed Plan which will be considered by Full Council.
