We asked

What you thought of our proposed amendments to the Guidance for Development in the Countryside and Green Belt and how we could improve it further.

You said

Most feedback was supportive of the changes to the Guidance.  There were some suggestions for minor alterations and clarifications.

We did

We reported the feedback and actions to the 12 October Planning Committee and made some amendments to the final version of the Guidance approved by Committee.  The Guidance is now approved and will be used to assist in assessing planning applications in the Countryside and Green Belt.  It can be viewed on the Council website.

Overview

The Council prepares a Local Development Plan to direct new development.  Policy Env 10 of the Plan advises on new development in the countryside and green belt.  This Guidance gives further interpretation of the policy.

Why your views matter

We are seeking the views of all those who use the Guidance for Development in the Countryside and Green Belt.  The Guidance has been updated to reflect the adopted Local Development.  Please read the draft Guidance before completing the survey below.

What happens next

After the consultation we will consider any amendments to the Guidance for Development in the Countryside and Green Belt.  Any modifications will then be reported to one of the Council’s Committee’s for approval.  The Guidance will then used in assessing planning applications alongside the Local Development Plan.
