Edinburgh Night-time Economy

Closes 4 Dec 2025

Opened 12 Nov 2025

Overview

Thank you for taking part in this survey about Edinburgh’s night-time economy.

Your views will help the City of Edinburgh Council and its partners understand how people live, work, and spend time in the city between 6pm and 6am. The results will directly inform the work of the new Night-Time Economy Co-ordinator, whose role will be to identify key challenges, opportunities, and practical improvements for making Edinburgh’s night-time offer safer, more inclusive, and more enjoyable for everyone.

When we talk about the night-time economy, we don’t just mean pubs, bars, or clubs — it includes all the activities, services, and people who contribute to city life at night, from hospitality and transport to healthcare, culture, retail, and leisure.

The survey should take around 10-12 minutes to complete

All responses are anonymous and will be used only for research purposes to help shape future planning and improvements in Edinburgh’s night-time offer.

Please answer as honestly as possible based on your own experiences — there are no right or wrong answers.

Thank you for sharing your experiences and helping make Edinburgh a great place to live, work, and visit — day and night.
