Closed 8 Mar 2023

Opened 26 Jan 2023

Overview

The Council via the Housing Neighbourhood Improvement Programme are seeking to make improvements to the Moredunvale greenspace.

The project is led by a steering group, comprised of Moredun Multi Residents Association, Gilmerton Inch Community Council, City of Edinburgh Council and design consultants.

The steering group gathered ideas for the greenspace through community consultation, which was held in the park during the summer of 2022.  A summary of the key ideas taken forward into design proposals are as follows:

  • Improved accessibility through the greenspace
  • New paths through the greenspace
  • New/improved play equipment in the existing playpark
  • An outdoor gym / play trail
  • Additional litter bins
  • Additional seating
  • Creation of an outdoor amphitheatre
  • Infrastructure for community activity, such as a gala day or football events.
  • Tree planting
  • Wildflower meadow areas
