We asked for views on the proposed New Town Conservation Area Character Appraisal.

The majority of the feedback was supportive of the Character Appraisal. There were some suggested areas of concern that detract from the special character and/or appearance of the Conservation Area that required highlighting with possible remedial measures proposed . The section covering the assessment of new development within the Conservation Area was specifically highlighted by respondents as of particular usefulness in helping mange change and development pressure within the area These are detailed in the consultation report which can be accessed below.
We did
The feedback to the Character Appraisal was used to strengthen the content and accuracy of the information and proposed measures detailed within the document. This has further strengthened the appraisal of the areas special architectural and historic interest helping manage change and new development within the area more effectively.
