Taxi Fare Review 2024 - proposed tariff

Closed 1 Nov 2024

Opened 4 Oct 2024

Results expected 12 Nov 2024

Overview

The City of Edinburgh Council reviews taxi fares every 18 months and must consult on any proposals to change the taxi fare tariff.

The suggested new taxi tariff includes the following changes:

  • increase of 9.5% across all tariffs (including the festive tariffs); and
  • amend the airport pick-up and drop-off charges to allow up to £6, providing that this is no more than the actual amount charged.

Why your views matter

The Council must consult on proposals to change the taxi fare tariff, so that a new fare table can come into effect in December 2024.

A copy of the proposed new taxi tariff is available below, and you can make comments within this survey. If you would like to make any additional comments about the proposals please email licensing@edinburgh.gov.uk.
