The Council currently works with and funds the Edinburgh Tenants Federation (ETF) and the Neighbourhood Alliance in Craigmillar (NA) to support tenants to participate and have their say. That means doing things like helping tenants’ groups to meet, attend walkabouts with officers and scrutinising services. Their work is focused on bringing tenants together to have their say on a whole range of different housing services.
We’re looking at the way we carry out tenant participation in the future. Sharing your view will make sure you can get involved and participate in ways that suits you and other tenants. There are two ways that services could be delivered:
- In-House Council service model: This means that new Council officers would be employed to engage directly with tenants and get their feedback.
- External service model: This means that we would procure expert providers with experience (e.g. private companies, charities or other community led groups like ETF) to deliver tenant participation services.
We want to know what you think about the ways that we could deliver these important services, and what they should cover.
