The 'Outcome of Consultation Report' was reported to the Council’s Policy and Sustainability Committee on Thursday 25 June 2020. The Committee's decision was to approve the proposal to establish an annexe to Kirkliston Primary School at Kirkliston Leisure Centre. A design for the new building is being developed and we hope a Planning Application will be submitted in September 2020.

Overview
The accommodation at Kirkliston Primary School is under pressure from rising rolls in the area. Projections indicate additional accommodation is required to support the rising roll.
Informal consultation has reinforced the community’s view that a new primary school is not supported because it would divide the community.
Accordingly, it is proposed to establish an annexe of the primary school on the leisure centre site, some 500 metres from the school, which will accommodate P1 and potentially P2 pupils along with a new early learning and childcare facility.
The proposal does not propose any changes to the existing primary or secondary school catchment areas.
The full details of the proposal are available in the statutory consultation paper.
A summary paper, map showing Kirkliston Primary School's catchment area and a map showing the location of Kirkliston Primary School and Kirkliston Leisure Centre can be accessed from the links at the bottom of this page.
