Overview
This consultation gives people the opportunity to express their views about proposed initial designs for cycling and walking improvements on Inverleith Place, Inverleith Row, Warriston Gardens and Goldenacre Path.
These designs are part of planned improvements to the cycling route, called QuietRoute 20. This route forms part of the QuietRoutes Network that is being implemented across Edinburgh. The aim of the network is to provide routes that are easy, safe and convenient to use by people of any level of cycle experience. It will also improve conditions for people walking.
There shall be a public exhibtion of the designs on Wednesday 16 November from 5pm till 8pm at Stockbridge Library. Staff will be on hand to discuss the designs.
Why your views matter
The Council needs to understand and consider all the needs and views expressed by people regarding the street re-design.
We will use the comments to develop an optimum design that improves the street for walking and cycling.
What happens next
Following the consultation, the designs will be further refined and developed by a design team of Council and external technical experts.
There will be further opportunities to respond to the designs as they are refined.
The aim is for final designs to be completed by March 2017.
Subject to Committee approval and funding availability, the intention is to begin construction in 2017/18.
