Feedback updated 8 Mar 2018

We asked

What you thought of our proposed amendments to the Gorgie/Dalry Supplementary Guidance and how we could improve it further.

You said

Most feedback was supportive of the changes to the Guidance.  There were some suggestions for minor alterations and clarifications.

We did

We reported the feedback and actions to the 12 October Planning Committee and made some amendments to the final version of the Supplementary Guidance approved by Committee.  The Supplementary Guidance is now approved and will be used to assist in assessing planning applications for changes of use in the Gorgie/Dalry town centre.  It can be viewed on the Council website.

Overview

The Council is responsible for managing the mix of shops, cafes, restaurants, pubs and other uses in its town centres.  We are reviewing the current town centre Supplementary Guidance for Gorgie/Daly. This will set out where uses can change and how we plan for a mix of uses to support the town centres as a place to shop, visit, live and work.

Why your views matter

We are seeking the views of all those who shop, visit, live and work in the Gorgie/Dalry town centre.  We would like to hear your views on the draft review of planning for a mix of uses in Gorgie/Dalry.  Please read the review of the Supplementary Guidance before completing the survey below.

What happens next

After the consultation we will consider any amendments to the town centre Supplementary Guidance.  Any modifications will then be reported to one of the Council’s Committee’s for approval.  The Supplementary Guidance will then used in assessing planning applications alongside the Local Development Plan.
