Overview

Early next year the Council intends to submit a planning application for a new sports centre to replace the existing Meadowbank Stadium and Sports Centre. The new sports complex will provide a modern, fully accessible high quality sports centre for sports clubs and the local community. It will also include a 400m running track with a stand for 500 spectators.

The new centre will be partly funded by selling part of the existing site. Areas of the site would also be transferred to the Council’s 21st Century Homes to provide affordable housing. A Masterplan for the site will be submitted with the aim of gaining planning permission in principle.   

Why your views matter

The Council needs to understand and consider all the needs and views expressed by people regarding the proposed new development. We will use your comments to help inform the planning application.
