Thank you to those who provided feedback on the Kirk Brae - Pedestrian Crossing Improvement proposals.

We have reviewed the responses received to the consultation and considering the majority of respondents do not support the proposals presented, the designs will be amended and another consultation will be undertaken with revised proposals in due course

Overview

The Council proposes to install a footpath build out on Kirk Brae, north of Orchardhead Road to improve pedestrian mobility and safety.

In 2017, the Council consulted on the removal of the existing traffic island outside No.52 Kirk Brae to address road safety concerns that had been raised.

It is proposed to progress the island removal works in conjunction with the delivery of the new footpath build out.

Why your views matter

A preliminary plan of the proposed pedestrian improvement has been developed and we now wish to obtain the views of local people.

The proposals for both the footpath build out and island removal can be viewed via the PDF links at the bottom of this page.
